Installation of 'Leerstelle' at Notgalerie

'When a body encounters another body, or an idea another idea, it happens that the two relations sometimes combine to form a more powerful whole, and sometimes one decomposes the other, destroying the cohesion of its parts
- Spinoza

Documentation pictures from Jun. 2018, Dec. 2018 and Apr. 2019: Three plaster tablets, overall dimension: 150 X 75 cm.

It can be discussed whether the encounter between Leerstelle and other bodies has been destroying or developing the piece. Has the influence of other bodies added something to the piece and created a much stronger and 'longer lasting' piece?

My piece 'Leerstelle' was installed in the terrace of Notgalerie, Vienna in June 2018. Since then it has transformed into something different, something new. The weather and the public has been a part of this transformation.

What happens when the viewer is influencing or is being influenced by an art piece?
Are all the bodies becoming a part of the art piece?
And even though the piece will become 'nothing' over time, will our memory of it be a part of the piece?
